Mario Covarrubias Jurado

He received his law degree from the Universidad Católica Argentina with an overall average of 9 points. Holds postgraduate courses in Health Law (2008) and Modern Commercial Contracts (2010) from the Universidad Católica Argentina. During the subsequent years, he has completed a Specialization in Business Law (2014) and a Master in Business Law (2017) at the School of Law of the University of San Andrew with his thesis called "Search Engines liability because of third parties content under the Argentine Law". The Editorial called ERREPAR through its Legal Compendium Collection of October 2017 recently published such thesis (Digital appointment: IUSDC285344A).

He was assistant professor in Torts Class at the School of Law of the Universidad de Buenos Aires and served as an assistant professor in Procedural Law at the School of Law of the Universidad del Salvador. He joined the Research Institute of Procedural Law at the School of Law of the Universidad del Salvador (2012) and he has attended several seminars and conferences among which stand out the Tort Liability Seminar Common Law Prof. Lawrence Levine, University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of law, California, USA (2011), the Conference on Arbitration within Bicentennial year in USAL (2009) and the Preparatory Conference for the National Congress of Litigation in USAL (2010).

He has written several articles on Technology Law such as "La responsabilidad civil de los buscadores de Internet por contenidos de terceros en el derecho argentino", (Editorial ERREPAR, Cita digital: IUSDC285344A); "Un fallo a favor de la libertad de expresión en Internet", (Editorial: ERREPAR, Cita digital: IUSDC285485A); "Los buscadores en alerta", (www.abogados.com.ar); "La Corte Suprema de Justicia de la Nación rechazó la demanda contra Google y Yahoo! en defensa de la libertad de expresión"; (www.abogados.com.ar); "La Corte Suprema en la causa Rodríguez, María Belén no se expedirá sobre El Derecho al Olvido" (www.abogados.com.ar) y "La Trascendencia de la sentencia que dictará la Corte Suprema de Justicia en la Causa Rodriguez, María Belén", (www.abogados.com.ar), entre otros.  

Prior to joining the firm, he worked in civil litigation at Fernandez Acuña, Covarrubias Jurado & Jurado Saa Law Firm from 2002 to 2005. He is a member of the litigation team of the firm since November 2005. His practice is focused on representing and assisting clients in litigation matters before the courts of the City and the Province of Buenos Aires and he has also counseled clients on domestic arbitrations administered by the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange Market Arbitral Tribunal.
