Aqua Capital Closes Fund II at Upwardly Revised $370 Million Cap

Taking advantage of strong demand from U.S. investors, Brazilian private-equity firm Aqua Capital held a final close of its second agribusiness fund at its $370 million hard cap.

Nearly 30% of the capital committed to Aqua Capital Agribusiness Fund II came from the U.S. endowment community, according to a press release. In total, over 60% of commitments to the fund came from North America, 20% from Europe, 10% from the Middle East and the remainder from local Latin American investors, the release said.

Asante Capital and the Touchstone Group LLC advised Aqua in the fundraising, while Sidley Austin LLP and Estudio Garrido acted as legal counsel.
